Girl Scouts of Western New York serves nine counties in Western New York: Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming. It is part of Girl Scouts of the USA, the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls. We provide an accepting and nurturing environment so that girls may build character and skills for success in the “real world.” In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives: Leadership; strong values; social conscience; desire to perform community service; respect for the differences of all individuals; confidence in their abilities and enhanced self-esteem.

History:
Girl Scouts of Western New York began on July 1, 2008 and was a carefully planned merger between four "legacy" councils: The Girl Scout Council of Buffalo and Erie County, Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley, Girl Scouts of Niagara County and Girl Scouts of Southwestern New York. Each one of those councils had a rich, well - respected heritage in the Western New York area that dates back as early as 1916.
