The Pajama Program -Buffalo Chapter
Logo

The Pajama Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. Thousands of children we serve are living in orphanages, group homes, or shelters - and are often shuffled between temporary living facilities. Many of them have been abused or abandoned and have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father to tuck them in at night and read to them.

Description:
The Pajama Program provides comfort and love in the way of new pajamas and books to children in need, many of whom are waiting and hoping to be adopted. Snuggling up in new, warm pajamas with their very own book to read gives lonely children a secure and nurturing bedtime environment.

We currently distribute over 700 pairs of pajamas a month, with that number reaching over 1,300 in the winter months, as the need becomes ever greater.

Those numbers will continue to rise as we expand our community partnerships. The Pajama Program currently partners with The Salvation Army, Haven House, Compass House, Harvest House, Cornerstone Manor, Gerard Place, and the Head Start Program of the Community Action Organization.

History:
Since 2001, the national Pajama Program has provided more than 350,000 pairs of pajamas and 140,000 books to children in need.

We depend on the generous support of volunteers, supporters, event hosts, pajama drive sponsors, and of course, donations of cozy new pajamas and new children's books.
