Lothlorien Therapeutic Riding Center provides horseback riding opportunities to children and adults with disabilities. Our mission statement: Assisting individuals to develop their highest potential through therapeutically based equine activities.

Description:
Lessons are conducted by instructors nationally registered by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) and nearly 150 trained volunteers. Volunteers assist in the lessons by either leading or walking alongside the horse to provide physical and emotional support to the rider. The small miracles that happen everyday at Lothlorien are attributed to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers.

As a 501 C(3) nonprofit, we do not receive any funding from federal or state governments; we are supported through the generous assistance of neighborhood partners, individuals, foundations and corporations.

History:
Lothlorien Therapeutic Riding Center was established in 1983 to provide horsemanship and horse back riding opportunities for individuals of all ages with mental, physical, emotional and learning disabilities. Since 1986, Lothlorien has owned and operated our present facility which includes a 16 stall horse barn, outdoor sand ring, two hay sheds, volunteer lounge, office and stable manager’s residence. Through the years our goal has been to expand our programs to meet the growing needs and number of clients in the community we serve.

From the 90: Take route 400 South, to the "East Aurora" exit and turn Left on 20A. About 1 mile down the road, turn Right on Reiter. We are the third driveway on the Right.
