Heart of the City Neighborhoods, Inc. (HCN) is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit Community Development Corporation created to stabilize Buffalo’s core communities bounded by Michigan Avenue to the east, Lake Erie to the south, the Niagara River to the west, and Porter Avenue to the north, through redevelopment, neighborhood stabilization, and housing developments that people can afford.

Description:
Heart of the City is committed to working together with residents, neighborhood organizations , financial institutions and real estate professionals to make Buffalo’s lower west side a better place to live. HCN will rehabilitate and create affordable housing; create integrated, mixed-income neighborhoods where individuals and families of all incomes will have a better quality of life in our community and take pride in their property, their street and their neighborhood.

History:
HCN is recognized as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) by the City of Buffalo, and was originally incorporated as Revival! Downtown, an independent non-profit housing corporation formed in collaboration with Buffalo Place, Inc. the managing entity for the City’s downtown pedestrian mall.
