CHC serves to provide quality educational and therapeutic services responding to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional needs of children with multiple disabilities and special health care needs ranging in age from birth to 21 years of age, respecting the dignity of all.
Description:
CHC Learning Center is committed to the belief that all children, regardless of the type or degree of disability, are valued individuals who grow, develop, and learn. CHC structures programming, both center and home-based around this philosophy. A strong transdisciplinary team approach is utilized. An important emphasis is placed on the use of alternative augmentative communication devices for individuals who are non-verbal. A community transition program providing learning and skill reinforcement opportunities within the community is offered for school age students. CHC recognizes the need for support for the families of children with disabilities and the benefits to child and family when services are truly comprehensive and integrated.
History:
In 1971, CHC Learning Center (formerly The Center for Handicapped Children) was developed by parents who desired a community based program for their children with multiple disabilities. Currently CHC serves children from over 23 school districts throughout Western New York (Erie and Niagara Counties).

I attended the Children's Christmas party last evening. What a wonderful and well planned event for the Children. Great food, entertainment and presents were provided for all of the Children.
