Community Concern

Community Concern is a community based not-for-profit organization, which delievrs needed human services intended to reduce social and emotional distress therby improving individual/family functioning and quality of life. The mission is supported through intervention, referral, counseling and community education.

Description:
The mental health program is a State-Licensed clinic to help adults who are having social, emotional or mental health problems that interfere with their daily functioning. These services include individual therapy, marital/couples therapy, family therapy, medication treatment from a board certified psychiatrist, group treatment, case management to clients with special needs, linkage to vocational or social programs and crisis intervention. The Senior Care Management Services provide case management to elderly seniors. This includes a complete assessment to determine what services they may need. Linkage to Meals on Wheels, benefits and entitlements, assistance with light house keeping services and home care assessments are provided. Community Concern also provides volunteer services to needy seniors. These services include friendly home visits, errands, minor home repairs and the Telephone Assurance Program.

History:
Community Concern is a not-for-profit social service agency founded in 1971 by concerned residents. Its services are designed to improve the quality of life for those in social or emotional distress.
