Cradle Beach provides education and training in a recreational setting to individuals with disadvantages and special needs. Cradle Beach is a nationally recognized center for excellence, celebrated for demonstrating impact in life skills for children, young adults and families.

Description:
Cradle Beach is committed to making a lasting difference in people's lives. Our service model brings together children with disabilities and at risk children to create a unique and empowering experience for them. Our core program is a summer camp program for children disabilities and from disadvantaged backgrounds. We are one of very few camps in the country to fully integrate programming for children with and without disabilities. We also offer a weekend respite program for individuals with developmental disabilities and a leadership program for our Pioneer Campers.

History:
Cradle Beach was founded in 1888, along the shores of Lake Erie as a children's camp. Over a century a go children were brought to Cradle Beach by horse drawn carriage for two weeks of wellness and fresh air. They were fed well, breathed the fresh air and swam in the clean waters of Lake Erie - a good summer camp session involved the children gaining weight and that is how we measured success.
