History:
Our son Donovan has had 3 heart surgeries and the next one, he may need to have two valves replaced. The surgery estimated to be $750,000 and was not going to be covered by the insurance. After about 8 months of work on the phone, research... we found a pediatric cardiologist surgeon in the state and started working on the insurance company, who then agreed to pay 80%. We started thinking we can not be the only family going through this. So we started working on a business plan in March 2002,to help other families like ours and we would not just help those with heart disease. Then May 2002 I was at a hospital waiting, my dad was being admitted because he was in so much pain. I was blessed with the name The Morlock Foundation, to honor my mom and dad. Almost immediately after going to Roswell, we found out that dad had terminal cancer. While spending time at the hospital with him, I was able to talk to him about The Morlock Foundation and how we would help families. He then passed away July 30,2002. After a year plus we finally received our approval from the IRS (August 7, 2003)after make changes to our board of directors and setting up verification paperwork to make sure each client was seeking a legitimate need. The Morlock Foundation received a call one day after our approval letter came from a family that needed help. We help families who have children with all different diseases. The only disease we refer out at this time is Krabbe disease & other leukodystrophies to Hunters Hope.
