Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Chapter Coordinator will help lead the Western NY Chapter in carrying out the five chapter mission areas: raising money for PKD (polycystic kidney disease) research, increasing awareness of PKD, educating the public about PKD, supporting those affected by PKD and urging Congress to devote more money to PKD research. There are 60+ active volunteer chapters around the country and the PKD Foundation could not accomplish its work without them.

Desired skills include leadership, organization, motivation, special events, fundraising and publicity. We ask a minimum commitment of at least two years of service in this role. Chapter Coordinators are invited to attend training once per year in conjunction with the Annual Convention on PKD in June. They are provided a Coordinator Manual with A-Z's of how to run a chapter, PKD materials, assistance from PKD Foundation national and regional staff and a network of other Chapter Coordinators for idea-sharing. The Chapter Coordinator may live and work from anywhere in Western NY.
