Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Walk to Defeat ALS is the signature event of The ALS Association. Approximately 150 Walk events are held across the country each year. Over $80 million has been raised through the Walk program since its inception in 2000. Each year over 120,000 families, businesses and volunteers participate in Walk events.
Walk events fund vital patient services programs and cutting-edge ALS research.

The Walk to Defeat ALS is made possible only by the passion and dedication of our wonderful volunteers. The ALS Association Upstate New York Chapter is currently seeking volunteers to assist in planning this year's Walks as members of important Walk Committees. Volunteer Opportunities for the Walks include:

Walk Chairs & Committees: These volunteers work directly with The ALS Association staff on planning for the Walk. Walk Committee members assist with:

Logistics- Tents, tables, etc…
Food & Beverage- Breakfast and lunch items as well as drinks
Entertainment- Music and kids activities
Volunteer Coordinator- Help recruit day of volunteers
Media & Publicity- Work with local media outlets to get the word out
Family Team Recruitment- Help recruit new families to join the walk
Corporate Recruitment- Help recruit new corporations to join the walk through teams or sponsorship
