Volunteer Opportunity Details:
The Priscilla Project empowers vulnerable refugee and low-income women by connecting each one with a stable, volunteer mentor and by providing education and access to healthcare and other community resources. Mentors meet with or contact their mentees once a week to work on the goals they identified, from the time they are first paired to one month after the mentee gives birth. The mentor becomes a friend and helps her mentee with health-promoting behaviors, community resource access, child-rearing techniques, shopping, and cultural adjustment strategies. An interview, orientation, and background check are required. Volunteers must be women due to the population served. This opportunity is sponsored by: Jericho Road Ministries
