Volunteer Opportunity Details:

"Wheels Around the Park" is our annual event to celebrate National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. We will walk or "wheel" one mile around Ring Road in Delaware Park on Saturday, October 3, to celebrate the gifts people with Down syndrome bring to our community. There is a light hot dog lunch after the walk with games and activities for kids and a door prize drawing for a wagon, scooter and bike. This is a day to have fun and raise positive awareness about our family members with Down syndrome.

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities for the day. None require training; shifts of a few hours are certainly appreciated. We need all kinds of general help from 8 am to 3 pm, including help setting up tables and chairs, blowing up balloons, keeping walkers on the route, handing out food, and cleaning up, just to name a few.
