Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 26, 2009

Volunteers help to provide our 24-hour response to all victims of domestic violence, family violence, elder abuse, sexual assault, and rape to all Erie County emergency rooms. Volunteers are trained and carry pagers for 12-hour periods. When a survivor presents at an area ER, the volunteer is paged to respond and meet with the survivor to provide crisis intervention, supportive counseling, safety planning and linkage to follow-up services.

Applicants must be 18 years old and have reliable transportation. Volunteers will complete a 40-hour training program and are then asked to commit to two 12-hour on-call shifts per month.
