Volunteer Opportunity Details:

These volunteers offer general assistance to both the visiting public and the staff in the Visitor’s Center. Volunteers are needed to welcome visitors, offer directions, monitor the Visitor Center and immediate outdoor areas, and assist in an emergency. Other duties may include informing visitors of special events, reminding visitors of rules and regulations are needed, answering the phone, answering general questions about the preserve.

A desire to work with the public. Ability to be flexible in your work assignments

Standing/Walking: throughout the day.
Sitting: At intervals throughout the day.
Light lifting. 5-10 pounds occasionally.

Directions:

From the Southtowns area, take Route 5 east. Exit at Tifft Street and continue straight following Ohio Street to Tifft Nature Preserve. From downtown and northern sections of the city, follow route 5 (Skyway) west. Stay to the right and continue to Tifft Street. Turn left onto Tifft Street, go through the underpass and immediately turn left. Continue to the Tifft Nature Preserve Entrance, within one half mile on the right.   Nearest Bus Stop: Small Boat Harbor, 15 minute walk
