We are in need of volunteers to assist before and on the day of (Thursday, November 26, 2009) the 114th Annual YMCA Turkey Trot. Take part in this annual tradition as over 10,000 runners and walkers take to Delaware Ave. for this time honored tradition.
Volunteers we need include:
PACKET STUFFING: Saturday, November 21, 2009
Packet stuffing takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Volunteers will prepare runner packets containing race t-shirts and promotional materials provided by sponsors.
REGISTRATION: Monday 11/23, Tuesday 11/24, Wednesday 11/25, Race Day 11/26
Volunteers assist in runner registration and packet distribution at the Delaware Family YMCA. See below for available shifts.
TRAFFIC/INTERSECTION CONTROLLERS: Race day, 8:00-11:00 a.m.
Volunteers hold a Race in Progress sign at intersections & direct traffic along the race route.
FINISH LINE CHUTE MOVERS: Race day, 8:00-11:00 a.m.
Volunteers assemble at the finish line outside the Buffalo Convention Center to help guide runners across the finish line and into the Convention Center.
START LINE TEAR DOWN VOLUNTEERS: Race day, 9:15 - 10:15 a.m.
Volunteers assist with tearing down banners and barricades from the start line. Some physical labor required.
FINISH LINE TEAR DOWN VOLUNTEERS: Race day, 10:45 - 11:45 a.m.
Volunteers assist with taking down banners and barricades, sweeping the area and loading all finish line equipment. Some physical labor required.
REFRESHMENTS: Race day, 8:00 a.m. - 12 Noon
Volunteers report to the Buffalo Convention Center to assist in the distribution of various refreshments during the post-race party.
