Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on October 26, 2009

Heart of the City Neighborhoods, Inc (HCN) is very pleased to invite that you to be a participant of the tree planting event scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2009. The opportunity for us to work in partnership with Re-Tree WNY, neighboring community groups, and dedicated civic minded volunteers such as yourself, to plant fifty (50) trees in the Lower West Side to restore the beauty of Buffalo streetscapes is exciting!

 Registration will be at 9:30AM; please join us for a light breakfast before we begin. We will share lunch when the trees are planted.

 We will have gloves and equipment on hand. If you can bring any of the following items, every little bit helps: wheelbarrow, spade, tamper, or roller.
 Be sure to dress for the weather, this is a rain-or-shine event!

 If you were a ‘team leader’ last year, and are willing to serve in that capacity again this year, please call our offices or send an e-mail to let us know.

 We will be providing a demonstration of the process for those who have not participated in a planting before.

If you are interested in attending a training session sponsored by Re-Tree WNY, the training is being offered at two locations:
