Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Your time and attention is worth more to a child than you realize. Being a Big Brother or Sister is about spending quality one-on-one time with a child, enjoying all sorts of activities together. You Don’t Have To Change Your Life To Change Child's! Sometimes it’s as easy as taking your Little along with you to something you were going to do anyway, like lunch or teaching your LIttle something you do well, like your golf swing or favorite cookie recipe. It's also rewarding knowing you are opening up new worlds for a child by taking them to the science museum or zoo for the first time or helping them do better in school by practicing spelling words. You will volunteer just a few hours a couple times a month. The agency will provide support to you throughout your friendship including advice and fun group events like holiday parties and picnics. As a Big, you’ll get to be a kid again and your Little will get a much needed friend and mentor. It’s a win-win for both of you!!

Minimum age of 18.

This experienced has enriched my life in more ways than I ever could have imagined.

I have gained so much by being a Big Sister these past 4 years. My Little Sister is growing up right before my eyes. She is now learning how to drive! It is so rewarding being with her and watching her grow and go through ups and downs in her life. She has been through a lot in her family life and knowing that I will always be there for her as a constant in her life makes me feel better. I recently got married and she was a Junior Bridesmaid in my wedding party. She was so thrilled to dress up and get all "dolled up" and seeing her happy for me brings tears to my eyes. Although we only see each other about once or twice a month, knowing we are there for each other to call at a moment's notice is what is most rewarding.
