To promote awareness of the Maiden Creek Watershed as a valuable resource through community education and citizen water quality monitoring.

Description:
MCWA is a non-profit Pennsylvania corporation. The group is made up of: Individual citizens, farmers, non-profit conservation organizations, and local and state governmental representatives. We have joined together and are committed to a common purpose: to protect our streamwater.

History:
Our goals and accomplishments are:
*Measure stream health through citizen water quality monitoring and utilizing the data to support conservation initiatives.
*Maximize citizen involvement and participation in MCWA.
*Educate the public through workshops, seminars, displays and publications.
*Sponsor stream clean-ups.
*Implement stream restoration projects.
*Posted stream signs at road crossings to develop a watershed awareness in the community.
*Implement stream restoration projects.
*Lobby on public issues that affect water quality.
*Provided MCWA book covers to schools in the watershed.
*Remove invasive plants which deter the health of our streams.
