While some of our programs provide resources for schools and youth organizations to use in their work with children, other programs provide year-round, “hands-on” support for children who are at-risk of future adversity due to difficult home environments and personal challenges. Our Operation Mile Marker initiative enhances our outreach to children who participate in our programs by providing a holiday gift bag with needed school supplies, small gifts and a personal note from Second Mile staff and board members to encourage each child’s efforts to achieve their program goals.
If your group would like to host a collection drive for Operation Mile Marker, we would love to work with you! We have collection bags and a needs list for an easy, worthwhile experience for your group. Our goal is to provide gift bags for 250 local children who participate in our programs and to help our program partners, such as foster care agencies, who request and need our assistance during the holidays.
