Take care of Red Cross vehicles Safety Net Services

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on September 30, 2009

It is vital that the American Red Cross has properly maintained vehicles so we're ready to respond immediately at the time of a disaster. Maintenance of chapter vehicles is also essential to the safety of volunteer and employee drivers and passengers. Regular maintenance also helps keep costs down. Volunteers will help with weekly maintenance checks on our fleet of seven vehicles, keep a schedule of maintenance, repairs and state inspections and make sure that all vehicles have safety equipment.

This position requires a volunteer with training and experience in automotive mechanics and a valid Pennsylvania driver's license. The American Red Cross will conduct and pay for driver history and criminal background checks. Since the work involves maintaining records, a volunteer in this job also needs to be organized.
