Volunteers Needed For The Reading Hopsital & Medical Center

Postpartum Concierge:
Purpose: To assist staff to provide a positive experience to all new mothers during their stay at the Hospital by enhancing non medical services.
Schedule: Monday through Sunday mornings, 8:00am to 12:00pm
Responsibilities: Serve as a personal resource for patients and their family for non-medical and community questions. Check with nurse to see if there are any special requests or restrictions before beginning rounds. Visit each patient with the breakfast cart to offer breakfast selections. Distribute patient amenity bags. Run errands, and restock bedside supplies.
Requirements: Volunteer must maintain patient confidentiality, have a professional attitude, and a friendly outgoing demeanor. Must have excellent communication skills. Walking is required.
 
Centran:
Purpose: To help Centran transporters in moving patients throughout the Hospital.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 12:00pm
                                                    12:00pm to 4:00pm
                                                    4:00pm to 7:00pm
                 Saturday and Sunday    7:00am to 11:00am
                                                    11:30am to 3:30pm
Duties: Transport patients on wheelchairs and litters between Departments. Help with discharging patients. Volunteers assigned to discharging patients will stage in the Centran Office on R3 South. Assignments will be taken by phone and logged on a manual log sheet.
Requirements: Must be able to push patients on transport litters and wheelchairs. Complete confidentality is required. Must be able to be on your feet and walking most of the working time.
