Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on November 4, 2009

We serve in-crisis (abused and neglected) teen girls and their babies and we are raising money for a new school/daycare for our residents. We are looking for groups to participate in a lock-in event on March 5, 2010 at Lexington Christian Academy's gym from 6pm til midnight.

ATTENTION: YOUTH MINISTERS, YOUTH GROUPS, SORORITIES, FRATERNITIES & CLUBS.....

ROCK OUT AT A ROCK-A-THON!

WHAT IS A ROCK-A-THON?
It's an opportunity for your group to gather to literally "rock " away the night and raise awareness and income for All God's Children. Your group is encouraged to recruit two or more friends to form their own "rocking" team. The "team" then solicits donations from family, friends, businesses, etc., prior to the "lock-in" event. At the event, the teams will "rock" in rocking chairs for a certain time frame.

BUT MUCH MORE GOES ON...
Here are some examples of what we'll do to "rock" out the night:

While individuals are on break from their chairs, we'll have some ROCKY Road Ice Cream for them to enjoy.
Have a contest with "Guitar Hero ROCK Legend"
Play a Basketball game called "Shoot the ROCK"
Plan a worship service with Christian ROCK Music and a speaker from All God's Children
Have a craft area where you can decorate stepping stones or make Pet ROCKS.
Climb a ROCK wall.
Play a game called "Pass the ROCK" (sitting in a circle while music plays and keep passing the ROCK. When the music stops, the one holding the ROCK is eliminated or must take over for someone ROCKING to play the game. Last player holding the ROCK wins a prize.
We'll Have GREAT prizes for the groups who bring in the most donations at your ROCK-A-THON! And GREAT Prizes for the winners of other contests.
Free Food, too!
PLEASE CONTACT JOAN PRIGGE AT 859.553.0962 OR JOANPRIGGE@AOL.COM FOR YOUR ROCK-A-THON PLANNING PACKET AND MORE DETAILS.
Accept our Rockathon packet with pledge sheets for All God's Children to help raise money for the new building. This is a fun event for everyone! Please call Joan at 859.553.0962 for details/packet.
