There are several sub areas with which the Lexington Rescue Mission needs help with. We are needing several volunteers to write/proof read press releases about the Mission and our events. Additionally, individuals with graphic design and/or desktop publishing expertise would be extremely helpful in putting together a quarterly newsletter. And finally, for the tech-savvy individuals, we require some helping hands to keep out website up to date, as well as posting our ads on community websites (such as craigslist).

All volunteers must come to an informational tour held at the Lexington Rescue Mission Outreach Center located at 444 Glen Arvin Ave and complete a volunteer application. Prior experience with press writing or graphic design is a plus.

Directions:

The mission outreach center is located on Glen Arvin Avenue, which is off of Georgetown Street. If you are coming from downtown Lexington, take Newtown Pike to Georgetown Street (there is a Rally's on the corner). Go about a half mile, until you see a store called Shopper's Choice Market, which is on the corner of Glen Arvin Avenue and Georgetown Street. Turn left, and the mission is the fourth building on the left side of the street. You can also take New Circle Road to the Georgetown Street exit. Turn South on Georgetown Street, and take it until you see the Shopper's Choice Market on the corner of Glen Arvin Avenue and Georgetown Street. Turn right on Glen Arvin, and the mission is the fourth building on the left side of the street.
