Volunteer Opportunity Details:

We have all been impacted this summer by the extreme increase in fuel costs. This winter these increases will deeply effect the poor of our community. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will be assisting the Community Action Council's Energy Assistance Program (LiHeap). This program gives Lexington's low-income residents assistance in paying their utility bills. Volunteers, you will be assisting the Community Action Council staff in participant intake, energy education, answering telephones, and verifying information with energy vendors. There will be a volunteer training held on Thursday October and services will begin in November.

All volunteers will receive a one hour LiHeap training and a one hour Community Action Neighborhood Center Orientation. All volunteers will be encouraged to volunteer at least one time during the week.
