Light the Night 2007 is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Courthouse Plaza in downtown Lexington. The pre-walk festivities will start at 5:30 p.m. and the walk itself begins at 7:30. Light the Night is the fastest-growing charity walk in the country. Last year we raised over $100,000 at the Lexington Walk and hope to surpass that this year. The Walk is an evening walk to celebrate and commemorate the lives of people touched by cancer. Walkers carry illuminated balloons - white for survivors, red for supporters - and light the night with hope.
We are looking for volunteers to help with the following areas the day/night of the walk: set-up of tables, materials, etc.; registration of Walkers; folding and distributing t-shorts; filling balloons with helium and handing out to walkers; assisting with accounting; assisting at the Food Tent; route directors during the walk; clean-up after the walk. All of our volunteers have a great time and will receive a FREE t-shirt and refreshments.
Due to the different volunteer opportunities the night of the Walk, arrival times will vary. Brief training either the week of the Walk or day of the Walk will be provided for those helping with accounting and registration.
