Committee's purpose:
Review compliance documents (audit/financial review, 990, operating budget, Board of Directors roster, IRS designation of non-profit status) and make determination regarding the stability of agency and likelihood that agency will remain stable over coming year.
Time period of commitment:
Beginning as soon as committee can be convened, the committee must complete its work by May 6, 2009.
Individual committee member commitment:
• Review the compliance documents for a set of agencies on your own
• Seek additional information or clarification if necessary
• Flag any of concern to bring to full committee's attention
• Work with full committee to address all concerns identified by the members of the committee during their individual reviews
Skills, interests and qualities needed:
• Detail oriented
• Knowledge and understanding of the types of documents being reviewed
• Willingness to work both on your own and with a team
• Hold as important the role of UWBG as trusted steward of donor funds
• Keep the best interests of the community in mind
