Growing Together Preschool, Inc. is a private, non-profit, United Way agency serving approximately 250 infants and preschoolers annually. The preschool is open year-round, Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. GTP provides early intervention services, a comprehensive developmental program, academic readiness for kindergarten, educational evaluations and screenings, and therapeutic services in an inclusive environment. The preschool serves children with and without disabilities, ages 6 weeks through 4 years.. GTP is accredited by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).
History:
GTP is an expanded version of a previously existing preschool program of the Bluegrass Association for Retarded Citizens (BGARC). Incorporated as Growing Together Preschool in September, 1982, the agency rented and renovated a crumbling two-story building on Georgetown Street until September, 1988. GTP moved to a new location at 599 Lima Drive, expanding the program and services. GTP was designed to meet the individual needs of children with and without disabilities, 6 weeks through 4 years of age in an inclusive environment. In the 24 years since our incorporation, GTP has experienced phenomenal growth, increased independence and expanded services.
