| The Jessamine County Senior Citizens Center provides services to seniors age 60+ to enhance quality of life and promote self-sufficiency. Description: Services are available for seniors of all ages. Active seniors will find learning opportunities and recreational activities at the center. Homebound seniors can receive in-home care to help them continue to live independently. Specific services provided include: information and referral, transportation, congregate meals, home delivered meals, shopping, laundry, homemaking, assistance with personal care, free respite for caregivers and access to legal and financial assistance. The center also distributes government commodities to low-income seniors on the third Thursday of each month. Volunteers are needed each month to pack boxes and carry them to recipients' cars. A variety of other volunteer opportunities are available.
