The Mission of The Explorium of Lexington (formerly known as the Lexington Children's Museum) is to create a fun and dynamic hands-on learning environment that inspires imagination and curiosity. Our museum galleries contain over 100 hands-on exhibits and activities. We provide programs for all ages including special needs, pre-school workshops and school age programs. Our workshops for ages 2-5 include the opportunity to create and make a new take-home craft every week, story times that include the use of puppets and props to tell a new story each week and a conceptual learning and explorative play with music and movement time. Drop-in workshops are offered for all ages and include art and science. We provide presentations to students on a particular area of focus for a more in-depth experience of each subject area. We have formed wonderful partnerships with many organizations in our community to provide children and their families with cultural performances and special events like Dental Health Week, Theatre of Possibilities, Healthy Kids Fiesta and Museum-Go-Round (a children's art festival). click here View allĀ volunteer opportunities for The Explorium of Lexington click here |
