| [ View Opportunities ] The Living Arts and Science Center (LASC) is a private, non-profit organization with the goal to provide creative and unique opportunities for exploration and education in art and science. The LASC also maintains an active outreach to special needs, at-risk, and under-served populations in the community as well as working with public, private, and home schools. Description: The LASC offers art and science classes and workshops for all ages -- some for ages as young as 18 months. These programs encourage individual expression through a diversity of materials and techniques. An Art gallery features the work of exciting, new, and local artists. The Science Discovery Room displays exhibits designed to stimulate creative and scientific thinking for all ages. Thousands of students visit the LASC each school year to explore science topics directly tied to KERA's core curriculum.
History: Since 1968, The Living Arts and Science Center has not only moved with the times but has become a trusted creative resource in the heart of the community. Through art and science exhibits, classes, special events, neighborhood projects, and programs for the at-risk, special needs, and under-served populations, the LASC has established itself as a stimulating force that makes Central Kentucky a better place.
