Logo Metro Group Homes,Inc. provides safe, positive alternatives for youth, between the ages of 11-21, and their families.

Metro Group Homes, Inc. works in partnership with youth at risk to strengthen or regain ties to their community.

Description:
Metro Group Homes, Inc. has several programs serving youth throughout Central Kentucky.

M.A.S.H. (Metro Alternative Shelter House) Drop Inn is a emergency shelter that serves youth between the ages of 11-17 who are homeless, runaway, neglect/abused or placed by DCBS. Youth may walk in to the shelter or be referred by an agency. Any family member/parent may call for a "three-day cooling off" if they need a break from a conflictual situation with their teenager.

The Street Outreach Program attempts to help youth get off the streets and into a safe environment. Volunteers and staff search for youth to provide information and referrals for shelter, food, medical/dental/mental health care, and counseling.

The Transitional Housing Program serves females youth up to the age of 21 years in an apartment living environment. Youth must attend school or complete their educational goals; work at least part time if going to school; and, be motivated to move toward independence and self-reliance. A youth will learn independent living skills through one on one skills development/training with our staff.

Safe Place a National Program linking youth in crisis through local businesses to a professional youth counselor at the shelter. Generally, individual or family intervention is needed by our professional staff. There are over 100 sites throughout the Lexington, Kentucky area and is connected to 54 additional sites in Franklin County, Kentucky.

Other programs include Aftercare services, Mentoring, Teen Hotline, and Peer Education.

All services are free of charge and can be accessed by youth on their own. WE TURN NO YOUTH AWAY.
