     Basic Literacy Tutor Training Workshop

Operation Read will be sponsoring a Basic Literacy Tutor Training Workshop that will begin on August 20, 2005. Participants will learn how to effectively tutor Adult Basic Education students, as well as become nationally certified tutors through ProLiteracy of America. Operation read will coordinate other training efforts such as observation and apprenticeship of experienced tutors, as well as matching each participant with Adult Basic Education classes or individual students of their own.

All tutors are required to complete the 14 hour tutor training workshop. Dates of the workshop are as follows: Saturday, August 20, 2005 9am-4:30pm Tuesday, August 23, 2005 6pm-9pm Thursday, August 25, 2005 6pm-9pm
