Children's Advancement Fund, Inc
Children's Advancement Fund, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) organization founded to help children in Connecticut with special needs realize their highest potential for a more independent life and be active participants in our society without placing a financial burden on families by funding Occupational, Physical and Speech and Language therapy services.
Description:
The Children’s Advancement Fund is a funding source for children in Connecticut who are un- or under-insured and from low income families, annual salary of $45,000 or less. Funding for services provided to each child will be made payable directly to the therapist that has contracted with the Children’s Advancement Fund (Speech and Language, Occupational and Physical Therapists). The therapists will agree to contract with the Children’s Advancement Fund, Inc. Each therapist will submit quarterly reports to document the child’s progress, attendance with the program, and training to parents. Therapists will be reimbursed at fair market value.
History:
Children’s Advancement Fund, Inc is the vision of Stephanie Bendiske, a Speech and Language Pathologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst, after seeing the number of children who needed to have access to such therapies but were not able to afford them. After working in the field for over 12 years, Ms. Bendiske began gathering support for this cause, and a year ago began planning for Children’s Advancement Fund, Inc. In April of 2009, the IRS paperwork was filed and only two months later in June of 2009 the IRS granted 501 (c) (3) status. The vision of the Children’s Advancement Fund, Inc has become a reality.
