Guardian Ad Litem volunteers advocate in Juvenile court for abused and neglected children, advocating for their best interest when involved in the court process. When relatives go to Probate Court and ask for the guardianship of a relative child, our volunteers advocate on behalf of the child and caregiver by finding services. Volunteers are required to participate in 40 hours of initial training. Volunteers are required to visit their case child once a month, attend hearings, Administrative Case Reviews, PPTs, and Case Status Conferences. To become a Guardian Ad Litem you must be 21 years of age, pass a criminal background check, and a DCF background check. This opportunity is sponsored by: Children In Placement/CASA - Hartford
