Prudence Crandall Center Inc., the oldest domestic violence program in Connecticut, is seeking eight (8) Adopt-a-Family Program Assistants for the upcoming holiday season. This position, which begins in early November and concludes in late December/early January, is responsible for assisting in the implementation of our annual Adopt-a-Family program. The program was created to match donors with needy families affected by domestic violence to insure that they have a happy holiday by providing gifts and a holiday meal. The position is responsible for assisting the Adopt-a-Family Coordinator with all aspects of the program including preparing information about the program to distribute with our quarterly newsletter, collecting family information (wish lists), matching donors with families, answering donor questions as needed, insuring the receipt and distribution of items, and thanking all donors. The Program Assistants will work closely with their supervisor and must have good organizational skills, ability to multi-task and sufficient time during the holiday season to devote to this important project required. A minimum of 5 hours per week for the months of November and December is required. Must have weekday availability and a willingness to be flexible if weekend/early evening availability is required.
