Organized Parents Make A Difference, Inc. (OPMAD) 5 Overall Experience   
Volunteering with OPMAD has been fantastic! The program offers Hartford children the opportunity to participate in fun, educational afterschool activities!

OPMAD offers a wide variety of afterschool classes for elementary school children, with the first session running from 3:00 to 4:30, and then the second from 4:30 to 6:00. I feel this extended afterschool program not only enriches the lives of the children who participate, but it also allows their parents to not feel they have to rush from work or cut their hours to pick up their children from school at 3:00. I have taught a cooking class at OPMAD for the last two years and it has been a heartfelt experience. I will be returning in the fall to teach my third session, and am looking forward to it! posted by KateHenry on July 7, 2005
