Adult Mentors Wanted For STRIVE/SAND Program

The STRIVE/SAND Program, an adult work readiness program, is seeking volunteers who are currently employed or have held supervisory or management positions, to work with current participants and graduates who occasionally need motivational support and encouragement. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of North Hartford and particularly the Clay Arsenal community where the SAND facility is located. The mentee would require assistance with navigating troublesome employment situations. Possibly advise them on techniques they can utilize to diffuse potentially volatile instances, suggest methods to approach their employers for wage increases, suggest courses or trainings they can enroll in to increase their skills, marketability and income. Volunteer should be willing to share their life experiences with the individual they mentor and provide guidance in personal as well as employment growth.No Training required.
