Literacy Volunteers Tutor Training East Hartford

Become a Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford tutor in our new Wickham Center
in East Hartford! Teach small groups (4 - 6) of adult students who need help learning
English or improving their reading and writing skills. Share your knowledge of English
and love of reading with others who want to improve their literacy skills. Our tutors
find this is one "job" they can't leave; most are with us for over three years. Discover,
as they have, that our students have as much to teach you as you teach them. An "EXPRESS"
tutor training workshop will be offered at our Wickham Center, 656 Burnside Ave.,
East Hartford, on January 14th and 28th from 9 AM - 4 PM. All volunteers must participate
in this training. We ask volunteers to commit to one year of teaching one class (2
hrs./wk.)
