Help a Hartford-area youth access higher education! Career Beginnings has been helping urban youth to finish high school and enroll in college since the program's inception in 1986. Our structured approach of workshops on college admissions, one-to-one staff advising and matching with volunteer mentors consistently yields strong results. Become part of our success story and help a student to realize his or her dream of being the first in their family to go to college! Career Beginnings mentors are college-educated professionals with five hours a month to spend with a student. No specialized skills or knowledge are necessary to mentor with us. All mentors are trained and supported throughout their volunteer commitment with Career Beginnings. The next mentor training session is scheduled for WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 FROM 6 TO 8 P.M. AT CAPITAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE, 950 MAIN STREET, HARTFORD. For more information, please contact Program Manager, Eileen Peltier at 860-906-5029 or epeltier@ccc.commnet.edu
