Active Jul 12, 2005 to Jul 18, 2005
On July 18, 2005, Career Beginnings, a non-profit program of the Hartford Consortium for Higher Education, is hosting an orientation for professionals interested in mentoring a high school student who is applying to college. CB mentors assist their students with the college admission process and offer support and encouragement. Mentors are trained and receive on-going support from full-time CB staff. Since the program's inception in 1986, volunteer mentors have been the backbone of Career Beginnings. We have helped more than 1,300 students graduate high school and go on to college and fulfilling careers. Call 860-906-5029 or e-mail epeltier@ccc.commnet.edu to become part of our success story. Career Beginnings mentors are professionals with a college background who spend a minimum of 5 hours a month with a student for the student's senior year of high school.
