Biology classes bring their youth into the garden 6-8 times to learn more about how ecosystems work. These lessons are taught with 5 teachers and up to six classes of each teacher. The lessons taught include food web ecosystems, nitrogen recycling, plant reproduction, plant classification, and cooking fresh garden produce to learn more about human digestion. These classes are fun, energizing and a great learning opportunity for college students, anyone interested in learning more about biology or gardening. This opportunity invites adults of all ages to interact with 14-17 year old youth in a meaningful experience.
There are no requirements, however we recommend those with some biology background to apply. Others can be trained and will receive adequate ongoing guidance and assistance. Time commitments are preferred in 3 to 4 hour blocks if possible. This opportunity is sponsored by: GEO Grant's Environmental Organization
