The Spanish Language Translator volunteer will provide assistance to the staff of the KidsFirst Main Street and and/or Auburn providing reliable and accurate translations from English to Spanish and vice versa primarily during support group meetings but also on an on-call basis for intake appointments. Support group meetings happen in both the morning and evening hours, during the week and are usually scheduled once a month. Volunteers who can also work on an on-call basis for intake appointments are also highly desired. Volunteers will have many days advance notice for appointments that are scheduled as on-call. Volunteers must have thorough knowledge of Hispanic culture, community, and needs. Fluent Spanish/English Bilingual required. Volunteers should also have excellent communication and mediation skills; be able to commit at least four hours per month. Day and evening availability desired and/or the ability to work on-call. • Ability to professionally interact and communicate with clients and visitors.
