Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on May 29, 2009 |
Grant High school GEO runs a brand new community kitchen named the Garden Cafe and as such we provide high quality learning experiences for all ages from elementary to adults. We need an assistant to develop and implement a donation collection system that would allow us to lower the cost of operation since most food products are rising due to a variety of reasons. As a non profit, our funds are limited and restricted so it is hard to buy bulk goods especially for our pantry and for everyday use items like cooking oil. We would like a volunteer who is capable of reading, writing, and communicating effectively. Be willing to research and submit donation request letters to businesses and corporations for food item donations as needed to successfully run our cooking programs and services. Training will be provided as well as resources to seek donations. This opportunity is sponsored by: GEO Grant's Environmental Organization
