Starfish Initiative’s mission is to cultivate promising, economically disadvantaged, youth into college-educated leaders by providing them with individual mentors, leadership training and community service opportunities. In so doing, it is our aim to instill in each Scholar the desire to contribute to his or her community in years to come by providing assistance and leadership so the next generation might follow in their footsteps.

Description:
Starfish Initiative assists Twenty-first Century Scholars throughout their high school careers in order to better prepare them for acceptance into college and achieve success in their secondary academic career. We work one-on-one with 100 students high school students, matching them with an individual mentor who acts as a "college coach", as well as providing leadership training and academic support during the entire length of the students high school career.
