Family Volunteer Month
	Family Volunteer Month:  Caring Families Change Lives! Family Volunteer Month is United Way of Central Indiana's month-long volunteer event that allows families to give back to the community through hands-on volunteering at nonprofit agencies throughout Central Indiana. Family Volunteer Month also offers you an opportunity to join forces with other volunteers to see how United Way, our partners, and you can work together to improve our community and strengthen families here in Central Indiana. _________________________________________________________________________________ The 2009 Family Volunteer Month will take place November 16th - December 18th.  _________________________________________________________________________________ The Details Who:      Everyone!  Specifically, any group of two or more people who consider themselves a family. What:     Volunteers can help make holiday cards, visit the elderly, deliver meals to the homebound, paint, interact with children, provide maintenance for service organizations, distribute food to families in need, organize, work on holiday mailings, and more.          Where:   Nonprofit organizations in Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion, and Morgan counties.   When:     November 16th - December 18th, times vary   Why:      To help improve the community and stregthen families by volunteering at nonprofit agencies throughout Central  Indiana.            Two Ways to Choose a Project:   1.  Choose a project submitted by a local nonprofit agency.   2.  Create a project that is specific to your family.   Click here to register!   For more information, please contact John Kennedy at john.kennedy@uwci.org or at (317) 921-1204. _________________________________________________________________________________________

	Volunteer Registration For Family Volunteer Month 2009 Be a part of the 2009 Family Volunteer Month! Sign Up 2010 Save-Earn-Learn; Indy's Campaign For Financial Fitness The 2010 Save-Earn-Learn program was created as a way for the low-income residents of Marion County to not only "Save" their money by receiving free tax preparation, but individuals "Earn" 100% of their refund. During their tax preparation, individuals have the opportunity to "Learn" about asset building. The Save-Earn-Learn program was designed and implemented as a way to encourage people to save money, build assets, and educate in an effort to avoid high interest refund anticipation loans. Tutor Training 90 min tutor training Sign Up ReadUP Tutoring 2009-2010 ReadUP is a tutoring program that matches volunteer tutors from the community with 4th and 5th graders that have been identified as reading below grade level. Why 4th and 5th grade? Research shows that if kids aren?t reading at grade level by then, they are less likely to graduate. You can help get them back on track, which can be an uplifting experience for all of us, beginning with you. Sign Up

	2009-2010 ReadUP Tutoring Registration Open ReadUP is a tutoring program targeting kids in the central Indiana community that are reading below grade level. Volunteer totors are matched with 2 students for one hour a week (30 minutes each). Partnering opportunties are also available for those unable to make a weekly commitment. Details
