Active Oct 1, 2004 to Apr 30, 2005
We are seeking volunteers for the following positions:
- Tax preparer
- Translator
- Greeter/Screener
- Technical back-up
- Clerical Support
Qualifications:
Attend mandatory orientation session in December or January.
Log 8-10 hours of practice time on computer software at home or in practice lab sessions. Pass IRS volunteer tax preparer test (not required for Attorneys and CPAs).
Desire to help those in need, including persons with disabilities, low to limited income, non-English speaking and elderly taxpayers;
Accounting/business background helpful, but not required;
NO previous experience necessary? FREE Training provided;
Ability to successfully meet and communicate with people from various backgrounds and circumstances;
Pride in performing tasks completely and accurately; Willingness to devote a minimum of 8 volunteer hours during the tax season.
