Girls Inc. -- Allies in Action Program Instructors Needed

Why do girls hurt each other? In today's society, bullying has become an ever-present issue. For girls, bullying can take many forms and impact a girl emotionally and/or physically. Growing up, how many times did you leave a girl out of your group, or how many times did you feel left out of a group? Does the word "Clique" mean anything to you? If helping girls to understand how they hurt each other, why they do it, and useful ways to resolve their conflict interests you, come join us as a Allies in Action Program Instructor!

A Girls Inc. program instructor truly emulates our mission as a strong, smart, and bold woman. She recognizes the specific challenges girls face, helping them to think about gender issues and how to overcome them. Our instructors engage girls in inquiry-based, hands-on learning, made possible with easy-to-use curriculum. Different than a traditional teacher, our instructors are flexible, encouraging girls to take leadership in their own learning. Each instructor has past experience working with groups of school age children and is interested in learning more about working with diverse populations

Volunteers interested in leading our Allies in Action program should have professional experience in following areas: Conflict mediation, empowerment/self-esteem, violence prevention, youth development, and/or interpersonal communications. Learn more by visiting the volunteer page at

www.girlsincindy.org to download a full description and volunteer application.
