United Way of Greater Union County’s Season of Caring was established to encourage businesses and individuals to volunteer their services at non-profit organizations throughout our local community. From September to December, these volunteers will contribute their time, talent and ideas to meaningful community services projects; as well as significant donations and drives for families in need. Our goal is to generate a minimum of 5,000 hours of volunteer service in our local communities by the end of the 2007 calendar year. For more information, please call Susan Pepper at (908) 353-7171 ext. 105 or susan.pepper@uwguc.org.
- Days of Caring – This is an opportunity for your employee teams to spend a day together serving our community. UWGUC will arrange for small or large group volunteer projects in local non-profits; ½ or full day. Projects vary and may include organizational support such as painting, administrative work or landscaping, etc. Other types of projects involve client or service interaction such as: working in a soup kitchen; planning a party at a senior adult day center or collecting books and reading to children at a pre-school. Your volunteer hours can earn Kellogg donations, too. What a difference a day makes!
- Food Drives – Collect non-perishable food items for food pantries, homeless shelters and people in need.
-
“Be An Angel”– Provide new toys and/or clothes for disadvantaged children in our community during the holiday season.
-
Customized Donations and Drives- Collect and donate items such as books, coats, clothing, toiletries, blankets, gift cards, and baby items.
