Agency Details:
Worcester Community Housing Resources
Worcester Community Housing Resources' mission is to help and create and preserve affordable housing and to initiate and support neighborhood revitalization in the greater Worcester area. Not only do we provide family housing, but we manage several sober rooming houses in the city for singles over the age of 18.
Description:
Worcester Community Housing Resources is working with the City of Worcester and the Worcester Housing Court to intercept rental housing units that are somewhere in the foreclosure process before they become vacant and abandoned and restore them to the market while preserving the tenancies of current renters. Worcester Community Housing Resources provides loans to qualified "receivers" who are awarded receivership of eligible properties under CDBG guidelines to address serious health and safety violations.
History:
Since 1994, Worcester Community Housing Resources has proven ourselves to be a successful organization that meets its mission by development of our own projects and utilizing our Loan Fund to meet the financial needs of other affordable housing developers. Our services are targeted to low and moderate income individuals. Along with our community partners, Worcester Community Housing Resources is committed to stemming the tide of disinvestment through neighborhoods within Worcester and the surrounding county.
