Refugee Apostolate, Inc.

The Refugee Apostolate strives to assist refugees, immigrants and other families in need with goods (food, clothing, furnishings), advocacy, language and work skills, citizenship and immigration assistance.

Description:
Programs provided by the Refugee Apostolate include the Little Store (thrift store), Christmas Giving Program, food program, employment program, citizenship and immigration assistance, computer-based English language instruction, computer class. Some of these program require referrals. Volunteers work in any of these programs with activities that range from keeping the Little Store presentable, sorting donations, putting computers together, picking up/delivering food, tutoring in English or employment skills.

History:
The Refugee Apostolate began in 1979 resettling refugee families from Vietnam, Poland, Russia, Kosovo. In addition, our programs have served many other refugees and immigrants from various countries. Many of our current programs grew out of the observed needs of these families and continue to expand.
